In another recent success for the 100mph + driver, Caddick Davies recently represented a 23 year old client before Carlisle Magistrates Court for speeding at 113mph in excess of a 70mph speed limit on a dual carriageway.
The young motorist came to the firm having been informed by his employer that if he was disqualified from driving for any length of time, even for a week, he would dismissed from his employment. This was an understandable concern as he was the provider to a young family.
Whilst this level of speed, being well in excess of the magistrates sentencing guidelines which end at 11omph, would usually attract a period of disqualification of 56 days and can attract up to 12 months disqualification, we were able to persuade the magistrates that this was a case which could appropriately be sentenced by way of 6 penalty points and a fine.
Needless to say our client left court a happy young man.
